Louis Armstrong was a complicated person. A musician who became a world wide persona who was as complicated as one can be. This production is a marvelous presentation of the poignancy and the presentation of his life. Seen through the most prominent of his wives, and alluding to the many other women in his life, they provided their impressions of him. That he was a frequent guest in jail, or was at Tiffany buying the latest bauble for his women, he was literally bigger than life itself. The actors were splendid, the music was enthralling, the sets and costumes were perfect for the eras that were portrayed. Yet, there as a poignancy about the production that can bring one to tears, especially the civil rights movement and the way he was discarded for a period of time, as well as the ending of his life. It was both exhilarating and at the same time makes one feel the true essence of a remarkable man.
