Tyler Perry's Madea On The Run
"Quicker on the uptake than any of Eddie Murphy's fat ladies, quicker even than Flip Wilson's Geraldine Jones."

Why see Tyler Perry's Madea On The Run?
Hold on to your hats, Madea's back!
The madcap adventures of everyone's favourite fiery grandma are back! Mabel Simmons, affectionately known as Madea, isn;t your regular sweet little old lady... The streetwise, fast-talking, gun-toting matriarch proves to be one of Tyler Perry's most beloved characters and the first of its type. In Madea On The Run, Perry once again dons the legendary persona to bring her delightful histrionics to stages throughout the US. There are hilarious hijinks aplenty, so get ready to laugh till your sides ache!
Black Entertainment mogul, actor, director, writer and film producer Perry cut his teeth in Atlanta's community theatre scene in the 1990's where he used his life savings to fund 'I Know I've Been Changed', a poignant musical based on his own abuse as a child. After much development it proved to be a breakout success and in 2005 Perry received financing for what would be his defining work and role. 'Diary of A Mad Black Woman' was the first in a long line of successful Madea-orientated films and plays.
What is Madea On The Run About?
Lo and behold, Madea finds herself in trouble with the law! Of course, even on the run from the authorities, the ever-resourceful OAP has her wits about her and moves in with her friend ailing Bam under the guise of looking after her as she recovers from a recent hip surgery. Unbeknownst to Bam, her home is the perfect place to lie low... The arrangement turns out to be beneficial to both when it becomes clear that Bam's family is in need of some guidance, at which point Madea works her family makeover magic.
